Micro and Nano Systems
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology offers a new international master’s program in Micro and Nano Systems
The program provides world-class, future-oriented education in design, manufacturing, characterization and integration of miniaturized components into engineering systems. The interdisciplinary courses cover fundamental theoretical knowledge in physics and engineering but also application-oriented skills in developing innovative products, in business administration and management. Courses and practical training address current and prospective needs of industrial and academic research.
The program will give graduates the chance to approve research results and prototypes in our clean room facilities at the Center of Microtechnologies (ZfM) or in the laboratories at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Electronic Nano Systems (ENAS) located at the University Campus. Potential partners for collaborate research are major firms in Germany and abroad (e.g. Siemens, Bosch, Motorola) as well as start-up companies at the recently launched Smart Systems Campus here in Chemnitz. The master’s program in Micro and Nano Systems is tutor-related. Each student is coached by a professor who will support individual talents and gives advices for specialization. The tutor supervises the Research Project and the Master Thesis.
Information and Communication Systems (ICS)
This new English-language master’s program covers a wide range of modules with the focus on future challenges in the fields of Information and Communication Systems. The program´s target audience consists of international and German students holding at least a Bachelor degree in Information and Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and with English language skills equivalent to the European B2 or Unicert 2 level. For students that are interested in specializing their knowledge in Information and Communication Systems the master’s program offers an excellent opportunity to learn in an international environment being well prepared both for a career in academia as well in the global I&C industry. The Chemnitz University of Technology ranks among the top seven research-based universities in Germany and imposes no tuition fees.
Most of the lectures of the Master’s programm are given by professors of the Institute of Information Technology which is part of the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EEIT). These professors have a sound background from industry and research.
